I just contacted policymakers and told them to protect my freedom to speak on the Internet, and I'm hoping you will do the same.

I'm excited about the many new and innovative ways that voice is being integrated into the Internet -- into games, blogs, web sites, and instant messenger software. However, just as these new technologies begin to emerge and provide us with new ways to communicate, some powerful special interst lobbyists have advanced problematic policy proposals that would limit your freedom to speak. These proposals, rather then trying to embrace and nurture tomorrow's VoIP technologies, are instead trying to force Internet communication technologies into old regulatory boxes meant for last century's phone companies.

Policymakers can throw out these proposals -- and if hundreds of people demand it, they'll have to listen.  That is why I'm asking you to join me in this effort to protect your freedom to speak.
